Pretty soon that swiss cheese shatter is going to turn into a big pile of cheddar. A study by Arcview Market Research predicts the marijuana business quadrupling by 2018. Extracts are making up somewhere between 30 to 60% of sales, according to a related articles in the SF Gate. 30-60 is pretty vague, almost the difference between 1/3 and 2/3, so maybe these researchers are dabbed out too. Either way, it’s a lot of money. What you might call a shitload.
With cannabis legal in some states, and with other states voting to legalize, it’s predicted that legalization will spread and it will be a ten billion dollar industry by 2018. While more and more states are moving to legalize, raw cannabis concentrates make up 30 to 60 percent of legal market sales with legal extractions being so much safer than back-yard operations.
The Arcview study says the pot biz bubbled up 74% last year to $2.7 billion. “The fastest growing industry in the U.S.,” according to the Huffington Post. And with 10 more states bordering on some form of legalization this year, it’s going to be another massive year.
$10 billion in 2018, but 2019 will probably be the apocalypse, so that’s when you got to start storing up, because shatter’s going to be the only form of currency when we live in Mad Max world.
