Presidential hopeful Joe Biden likes his outdated gateways so much, dude probably writes his debate notes on a Gateway 2000. He probably watches the original ’90s Stargatemovie instead of tuning into the more current Stargate tv shows SG1 and Atlantis. And he still thinks cannabis might be a “gateway drug.”

At town-hall event in Las Vegas last Saturday, Biden said he can’t fully endorse cannabis legalization because “there’s not nearly been enough evidence” out there to determine whether it’s a gateway drug, as reported by Business Insider.

“It’s a debate, and I want a lot more before I legalize it nationally. I want to make sure we know a lot more about the science behind it,” Biden said.

“It is not irrational to do more scientific investigation to determine, which we have not done significantly enough, whether or not there are any things that relate to whether it’s a gateway drug or not.”

Say what you want, but at least you can be pretty sure the guy’s not just shucking for votes. The vast majority of his constituents are in favor of legalizing weed, and most of his opponents have proposed legalization plans.

Biden, on the other hand, has gone for the much softer proposalincluding decriminalization. And he could be seen as going to his roots with his very 20th century pot thoughts. The guy was an active part of the Senate during the War on Drugs of the ’80s and ’90s and helped designsome of the proposals which led to mass incarceration
