It has been at least three whole years in the making, but Waka Flocka is finally going to see his hard work and vision realized with the release of Flockaveli 2.  The original Flockaveli came out all the way back in 2010.  Most artists struggle to even stay relevant for a couple years, let alone five.

The first release date for Flockaveli 2 was set to release late 2013, but has been pushed back a number of times.  The new release date is now set for June 1st, 2015.  To make things a bit more official, Waka Flocka gave his fans a look at the new album art and the official track list.  Finally, something tangible after all that waiting.

Waka Flocka has seen his share of up’s and down’s in his career.  Flockaveli was critically acclaimed in the streets and on the radio, but his follow-up album Triple F Life: Friends, Fans and Family was mostly seen as a bomb.  A lot of dedicated Waka fans don’t see it that way, though, and neither does he.

Flocka then put out a mixtape called “DuFlocka Rant Part 2,” which also saw meteoric success on Datpiff, but everyone is really waiting for the sequel to Flockaveli.  Especially after confirming guest appearances by Timbaland, Kanye West, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, 50 Cent, and a track featuring the one and only Wyclef Jean called Abu Dhabi.

Flockaveli 2 will have production done by Lex Luger, Southside, Rico Love, and Jim Jonsin.  Waka Flocka does have to live up to hype, though, that has to be at least partially responsible for how long this release party has been taking.

I think the industry needs a Waka Flocka album right now, a creator with mad intelligence as an artist.
