The remix video for the highly-addictive “Coco” song has just dropped and it contains visuals pf Wayne’s mental status of being locked in a cage. We know Wayne can be a very metaphorical dude on the tapes – some head-scratchers like “You know I’m on that grass, don’t cut on the sprinklers.” But, Lil Weezy can also put out some actual deep art, too. Ever since his public grievances about his life-long partnership with Cash Money Records, Wayne kept things a little hush-hush.
Lil Wayne cares about his fans, though – Weezy’s January release “Sorry for The Wait 2” addressed the delayed release of The Carter V and apologized to his fans, while also spitting a little venom at Cash Money with the single “CoCo.”
Now with the visuals to accompany it, Mr. Carter shows how he really feels, placing himself in an actual giant animal cage implying he was a prisoner of the label. Clips of Wayne’s past are stitched in-between flashing of dancers and various bombs going off. Meanwhile, lyrics reference Nicki Minaj and Drake as an f-you to Birdman, saying Weezy helped build his crumbling empire.
Wayne started up a mini-tour for the mixtape, showing love to the Deep South, with appearances in KC, Mississippi, and New Orleans, with Mannie Fresh on the wheels. You can grab tickets on his website lilwaynelive.com.
