People at Fixr have developed a very clever idea. They used Google auto-fill to find out what costs the population of every state searches for most. For example, California searches most for the cost of a facelift and New Jersey searches most for the cost of a funeral, and Florida searches most for the cost of an abortion. This isn’t all that scientific, but it’s a good waste of money.
And what do you know? Who’s looking at weed prices most? New York state and Colorado.
Colorado’s search terms pretty much revolved around the prices of weed, and because they are ever changing, people are keen to know how much they should be paying. The price for recreational marijuana flowers stood at $53.88 per eighth. This price was taken from 12 shops in the area; however this number is for January 2014. In December 2014 the price dropped to $48.95, nearly 9% in total.
New York got a little more specific in their search, and a little more ambitious in quantity. They want to know the cost of a “pound of weed,” because you’ll never know when you need a pound of weed. Or do they mean when you take a big honking dab and the weed just pounds you? Probably not, but whatever. Check out the map.
