A recent report from The Telegraph suggests that boys who smoke marijuana before puberty may be stunting their growth, in what sounds like someone who edits the D.A.R.E. website getting control of the decks over at The Telegraph.
In on-going studies, Pakistani researchers take the blood of smoking and non-smoking youths, testing for the hormone levels related to puberty and growth. In the smokers, the levels of hormones related to puberty were elevated, where the hormones related to growth were short…
It was also noted that non-smoking boys average about four inches taller and 4 kilos heavier, despite all of the smokers eating goodies around the research facility like Augustus Gloop at Willy Wonka’s.
The research is showing an early onset of puberty in users who start earlier. It’s also showing importance in little much of anything else.
But we appreciate the conceit. Lab rats and humans do make great fodder for testing.
