In Texas, outright legalization of marijuana is borderline impossible. Even God, Texas’ most beloved icon, couldn’t swing a vote in favor of marijuana. But today, the Texas Senate took a small leap in the right direction by approving a limited medical marijuana bill – which authorizes the sale of cannabidiol oil to authorized patients.

CBD oil is the perfect weed-appetizer for a conservative state, because after all, it doesn’t get you stoned. What it does do is help treat seizures associated with epilepsy, which now affect some 15,000 Texans.

The bill now heads to the House for a vote, and if it passes through the legislature, this would be the first time Texas passed a solid pro-Marijuana piece of legislation.
