Waka Flocka Flame has cancelled his appearance at University of Oklahoma, following a troubling video released which features frat boys at the school chanting racial slurs.
Waka announced his cancellation on Instagram earlier this week:
“SMFH.. I know for a fact the whole school and SAE don’t agree with those kids actions so know that I’m not madd at the whole #SAE just those disgusting kids!!!!!! #WFF We can’t change history but we damn sure can create our own future #DeathToRacism”
After video of a group of fraternity brothers chanting “There will never be a ni**er in S-A-E” surfaced, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter at the University of Oklahoma has since been closed.
The video featured Sigma Alpha Epsilon chanting “There will never be a ni**er in S-A-E.” the University of Oklahoma has already closed their chapter of the frat and SAE headquarters released this statement:
“We apologize for the unacceptable and racist behavior of the individuals in the video, and we are disgusted that any member would act in such a way. Furthermore, we are embarrassed by this video and offer our empathy not only to anyone outside the organization who is offended but also to our brothers who come from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities.
“This type of racist behavior will not be tolerated and is not consistent with the values and morals of our fraternity. We have more than 15,000 collegiate members across the nation, and this incident should not reflect on other brothers because this type of hateful action is not what Sigma Alpha Epsilon stands for. This is absolutely not who we are.”
Waka Flocka Flame is continuing the rest of his tour as planned upcoming shows in Auburn, Florida, Panama City and Auburn, Alabama, and more.
