Cannabis is largely used by cancer patients as a way to treat the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy such as chronic pain and loss of appetite. But, as even the federal government admitted earlier this year, both THC and CBD have been shown to be effective in directly treating some kinds of cancer when used in conjunction with other treatments.

How one branch of the government can admit that while another still calls it a controlled substance, meaning it legally has no medicinal value, is a question for another day when we have a political science scholar on hand.
